December 2023
Laiden Al-Sabur
Laiden is nine years old and in the 4th grade. She decided to learn piano when her brother started learning guitar. She was inspired by her grandma and her great-grandma, who both played piano. Laiden enjoys playing for her family, and she loves learning familiar songs. Her current favorite is “Russian Sailor’s Dance.” Her goal is to be able to play songs just by hearing them. Laiden’s favorite food is pasta from Piada, and her favorite subject in school is reading. She loves “Uno” and “Trivial Pursuit.” If she could meet one famous person, it would be Beyonce. Congratulations, Laiden!

Josephine Smith
Josephine is eight years old and in the third grade. JoJo started taking lessons this year! Her favorite instrument is the piano and she loves her teacher, Covie. JoJo loves playing songs for her family. Her favorite restaurant is Piada, and she loves pasta with Alfredo sauce. JoJo’s favorite subject is art, and her favorite game is Blanket Chutes and Ladders. If she could meet one famous person, she would choose Lou from “Bunk’d.” Thanks for being our Student of the Month, JoJo!

Rory Pierson
Rory is 6 years old and in Kindergarten. She has been taking lessons since she was four. Her favorite thing to do is listen to music, and she loves learning rhythms. Her loved playing at the studio recital, and she can’t wait to get back on stage! Rory loves the pool, and her favorite food is chicken nuggets. Her favorite game to play during recess is Shark Attack. If Rory could meet one famous person, she would choose either Princess Aurora or Simone Biles. Leo Mekhjian
Leo is in 5th grade and is 10 years old. He started with cello in 2020 and switched to drums right away. His mom made him learn an instrument, but after his first drum lesson, he was so excited to come back! His favorite thing about percussion is the repetitive motions. His favorite experience from being a musician was playing the steel drum at a holiday concert. His favorite food is dense chocolate cake and he loves the Bexley Pool! He is homeschooled and his favorite subject is history. He also loves to play Minecraft. Thanks for being our student of the month, Leo!

Zach Bender
This month’s Student Spotlight goes to Zach Bender, chosen by his teacher Shiloh. Zach has just finished the 3rd grade and has been playing piano since kindergarten! This coming year, Zach hopes to play in the Jazz band at his school, St Catharine’s. Zach plays music because he loves the sound his piano makes and he enjoys covering songs he’s heard, such as songs by his inspirations; classical musicians like Beethoven, but also classic rock bands like the Beatles and the Eagles. One goal Zach has for his musical journey is to learn the song ‘Golden Hour’. Outside of music, Zach likes to play football and enjoys visiting Johnson’s Real Ice Cream, right next door to Chamber’s Studio in Bexley! Zach excels at math and would one day love to meet the football player Josh Allen. Let’s all cheer on Zach with his future music endeavors and congratulate him for being Spotlight Student of the month. Great job, Zach!

Noah Schuman
Noah is eleven years old and is in the 5th grade. He has been taking lessons since he was seven. Noah was inspired by his older brother to learn the piano, and he wanted to be able to play his favorite songs. He loves performing for his family and friends. His favorite subject is science, and his favorite place in Bexley in Johnson's Ice Cream. Noah loves his mom's chicken noodle soup, his nana's spaghetti and meatballs, Chess, and Monopoly. If he could meet someone famous he would choose Adam, Jack and Ryan Metzger, from the band AJR. Thanks for being our student of the month, Noah!

Emerson Brown
Emerson is ten years old and just finished the fourth grade. Emerson has been taking lessons for two years, and her favorite instrument is the piano! Her favorite thing about music is when she is successful on a piece she has been working hard on. Emerson’s first recital at Johnson’s Ice Cream is one of her favorite memories, and a goal she has is to practice every day! Her favorite food is pizza, and her favorite game to play with family and friends is Clue. She loves Johnson’s Ice Cream and her school. Her favorite subject is social studies. If she could meet one famous person, Emerson would choose the president. Thanks for being our student of the month, Emerson!

Owen McCool
Owen is ten years old and is in third grade. He first started taking lessons during quarantine on Zoom! Owen plays guitar and was inspired by his dad to want to play. Owen says that his favorite experience as a musician so far has been lessons with his teacher, Patrick. His favorite food is Pizza and his favorite place in Bexley is Jersey Mikes! He enjoys playing football with his friends and P.E. is his favorite subject in school. If he could meet one famous person, he would choose Justin Jefferson. Olivia Patron
Olivia is eight years old and in second grade. Olivia started taking lessons when she started making her own music! She loves to sing and write music, and she writes her own words while she plays the piano. Olivia’s favorite music memory is when she was able to play her first song on the piano. She loves strawberries and pasta, math, and her school! Her favorite game to play with friends and family is Uno, and if she could meet one famous person, she would choose Aphmau on Minecraft. Olivia, thanks for being our student of the month!

Logan Shaw
Logan is 7 years old and is in second grade! He has been playing the piano since last year. Logan says that he was inspired by hearing his mom play. He started wondering what the different keys meant and how to make music. His favorite place in Bexley is the library and he loves to play the game ‘Monopoly’. His favorite subject in school is math and he loves both pizza and carrots. If he could meet one famous person, he would choose Taylor Swift. He masters his pieces by trying to play them three times in a row with no mistakes. Logan, thanks for being our student of the month!

Henry Ferrel
Henry is 8 years old and has been taking lessons since he was six! He is currently in second grade and plays the piano. Henry says that hearing music that he loves is what inspired him to learn to play. If Henry could meet one famous person, he would choose Kylian Mbappè, the soccer player. His favorite place in Bexley is the Tropical Smoothie Cafe and he loves to play the game ‘Cover your Assets’ with his family. His favorite subject in school right now is geography and he loves bosco sticks and pepperoni pizza rippers from school. His goal in piano right now is to get to the book his sister is on. Ellery King
Ellery is 12 years old and is currently in 6th grade! She has been taking piano lessons since 2019. She was inspired by her dad who also plays piano! Her favorite subject in school is math, and she loves the Bexley library. If she could meet one famous person, she would choose the author Stuart Gibbs. Her favorite food is pizza (although she’s a fan of Johnson’s Real Ice Cream too). Ellery’s favorite game to play with her cousins is basketball. She loves how much fun it is to play music, and she really enjoys learning it. Ellery, thanks for being our student of the month!
