Columbus Guitar Student Spotlight:
Lilly
Lilly is 10 years old and about to start the 5th grade! She started taking guitar lessons because she heard Taylor Swift playing it. Lilly loves her lessons and learning new songs. Her favorite musical memory is attending a Taylor Swift camp and performing a concert at the end. Her goal is to be able to play as well as Taylor Swift (she would love to meet her!) or Keith Richards. Her favorite food is pizza, and she loves gym class and Mario Kart. Lilly’s favorite place to go in Bexley is a three-way tie between Starbucks, Johnson’s Ice Cream, and Chambers Music Studio! Thanks for all your hard work, Lilly!

We cater to both adults and children. Note that guitar lessons are best suited for children 7 years of age or older due to the size of the instrument. If your child is interested in guitar but is under the age of 7, we recommend ukulele lessons in the meantime!
Yes, you need an instrument of your own so you can practice guitar playing outside of lessons. You’ll want your own guitar anyway—you’ll be strapping your instrument to your back to bring along to parties, dates, sleepovers, holidays, and more.
Lesson lengths vary depending on the age and level of the student, but typically range from 30 minutes to an hour.
Not just yes, but heck yes! We love working with beginners and will tailor your lessons to meet you where you are. Whether you’re learning for fun or intend to join a band and go pro someday, we’ll keep your guitar lessons just challenging enough to be fun without overwhelming you.
Our teachers are versed in tons of different styles of guitar—from acoustic guitar or electric guitar to classical, jazz, funk, and flamenco. You name it, we’ll create bespoke lessons that teach it to you.
A: For piano students, an acoustic piano is desirable, though not required. A keyboard with weighted keys is also acceptable.
A: For ukulele and guitar students, a high quality instrument, not a toy, is necessary for high quality lessons.
