Why Should You Take Singing Lessons?
Everyone loves to hear a skilled vocalist sing a gorgeous solo. Interestingly, singing is the first skill we learn before speaking. It is the most natural instrument. Voice lessons are genuinely a terrific instrument to start on. It is great for the beginner musician because it is easy for children, it provides a solid foundation for playing any instrument, and, maybe most importantly, it is fun to do. The voice is featured in classical music, jazz, blues, rock, folk music, and many other musical genres. Singing can be enjoyed so many different ways – solo performances, accompanied by instrumentalists, or accompanied by other musicians.
Our instructors at Chambers Music Studio love giving vocal lessons. We incorporate sight-reading, ear-training, music history, musicianship, musicality, and proper technique in all our private voice lessons. We also love to use various music games to help strengthen our students’ understanding of music concepts. Vocal students may participate in a wide array of events including, family recitals, nursing home recitals, community performance, and more.

Performance Goals For Your Singing Lessons
We’ve all heard that learning music is like learning another language—a beautiful, fun, interesting language. Mastery requires lots of patience, time, and practice. We invite students to participate in any number of educational activities as a means to encourage their enthusiasm and promote their progress. Some students might have an interest in performing amidst the hustle and bustle of a coffee shop or ice cream parlor. Others may prefer formal recitals at a local church or a performance hall. Some students enjoy performing alongside other musicians at events. There are those students, too, who appreciate critique of their performance and choose to perform to an audience of judges. No matter your preference, Chamber Music Studio offers an option that suits your personality and satisfies your performance ambitions for your vocal lessons.
Other Advantages Of Your Singing Lessons
The voice can be learned at any time throughout one’s life, from preschool to beyond retirement. In fact, though there is certainly a positive impact on the brain from learning music as a child, taking vocal coaching sessions can be beneficial to anyone, no matter their age. There are many benefits to taking voice lessons from Chambers Music Studio.
Music And The Brain
Scientists have studied the effects of music on the mind. Music keeps your brain engaged. Listening to or playing music offers your brain mental exercise that keeps it strong throughout the aging process.
Music And Your Health
Scientists have also found that listening to and playing music, like singing, positively affects your mental health and mood. Listening to and playing music has been shown to reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain while improving one’s memory, mental alertness, and sleep quality.
Music And Language Skills/Literacy Development
Not only does music benefit your physical and mental health, but it also improves early language and literacy development. Learning how to sing has been shown to have many cognitive benefits. This process serves to sharpen the mind, as well as enhance communication skills. These benefits have been shown to be incredibly long-lasting. Many adults show enhanced neural responses due to studying the voice at a young age, even if they no longer sing. Though these benefits are likely more pronounced in children, due to the enhanced elasticity of their brains, they can provide benefits for adults, as well.
Singing Lessons And Agility
By learning to sing, a person learns to work with numerous muscles separately and simultaneously completing complex actions. Reading skills and fluency are enhanced by reading the notes and taking the necessary subsequent action with one’s vocal folds. Learning how to sing requires incredibly complex functions.
