Bexley Guitar Teacher Spotlight: Craig Carloni

We’re excited to spotlight Craig Carloni as our Bexley Guitar Teacher of the Month!

Bexley Guitar Teacher

Craig grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and his love for music began early. One of his first memories is listening to The Beatles in the car with his mom when he was just four years old. He remembers wondering how their voices could sound like instruments ,  a question that sparked a lifelong obsession with understanding music more deeply.

Although Craig is primarily a guitarist, the first instrument he ever played was bass, and he still has a soft spot for the low end. That foundational experience shaped the way he hears and feels music.

When asked what inspires him most, Craig’s answer was simple: Life. For him, music is a form of “sonic meditation.” Whether listening, writing, or performing, music creates a flow state ,  a space where emotions can be processed and expressed beyond words. It’s both grounding and freeing, he says.

His favorite songs to perform? An unexpected and fun tie between “Mambo No. 5” and an a cappella rendition of “Turn Down for What” a reflection of his playful and dynamic musical personality.

Teacher of the Month

As a musician, Craig finds equal fulfillment in writing and performing. Writing offers comfort and beauty, while performing creates catharsis,  that powerful release that comes from being open and vulnerable in front of an audience.

When he’s not teaching or playing, Craig loves being anywhere music happens: the recording studio, the practice space, the gig, and of course, Chambers Music Studio! He also enjoys the woods ,  “trees are cool,” as he puts it.

He’s currently working on becoming stronger at singing and piano, and one day hopes to truly shred on the banjo.

Teacher of the Month

What Craig enjoys most about teaching is the fulfillment and humility that come with sharing knowledge. His ultimate goal as a teacher is to equip students with the tools to express themselves creatively and find balance within themselves.

We are so grateful for Craig’s depth, creativity, humor, and heart. Congratulations, Craig, on being our Teacher of the Month!
