Bexley Piano Teacher Spotlight: Ejiela Agi

This month, we’re proud to recognize Ejiela Agi as our Teacher of the Month!

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Ejiela has dedicated their life to music and education, inspiring students both inside and outside the lesson room. While they knew in high school that they wanted to pursue music professionally, it was during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic that they truly realized music wasn’t just a career, it was a lifelong calling.

When performances came to a sudden halt and live gigs disappeared, Ejiela shifted their focus to creating engaging virtual lessons and finding creative ways to continue performing online. That experience reinforced their commitment to music education and reminded them that helping students grow was something they were passionate about for the long haul.

Although they enjoy many instruments, piano will always be their favorite. Even after more than twenty years of performing, Ejiela continues to challenge themselves by taking guitar lessons, believing that great teachers are also lifelong learners.

One of the biggest sources of inspiration for Ejiela is the people around them. Being surrounded by talented musicians encourages them to continue honing their craft, while their hardworking students motivate them to keep learning and growing alongside them. They also recently began curating their own monthly performance series, proving that there are always new ways to grow as a musician, no matter how many years you’ve been performing.

When they’re not teaching or performing, Ejiela enjoys exploring local coffee shops, reading, and gaming.

What Ejiela loves most about teaching is watching students develop over time, not only as musicians, but as people. They believe music lessons help students build confidence, resilience, discipline, and problem-solving skills. Watching students overcome challenges that once seemed impossible and seeing the pride they take in their accomplishments is what makes teaching so rewarding.

As our Director of Education, they continually support our teachers, help shape our educational programs, and work tirelessly to ensure every student receives an exceptional music education. Their leadership, musicianship, and passion have made a lasting impact on our studio community.

What instruments do you offer?

We offer a variety of different instruments! You can check which instrument specifically via our lessons page.

How are students placed with a teacher?

Students are placed with a teacher via the Placement form. You will fill out a series of questions pretaining to personality and learning styles, and we use that information to match you with a teacher that bests fit you or your child’s needs and ambitions.

Do you offer beginner lessons?

Yes! At Chambers, we work with all skill levels, everything from beginner to expert.

Do you offer lessons for kids and adults?

Yes! We welcome all students regardless of age or skill level. We offer private lessons, but we also have age specific courses designed for early childhood development, we also have ensemble and group classes that are designed for children and adolescents.
