Columbus Piano Student Spotlight: Kavi Wilt

We are excited to celebrate Kavi Wilt as this month’s Student of the Month!

Kavi is 9 years old and in 4th grade. He began taking music lessons in 1st grade after being inspired by his musical family. With both of his parents playing instruments, Kavi decided he wanted to become a musician too.

His favorite instrument is the piano, and he is excited to begin learning the cello soon. One of the experiences that inspired him most was seeing the Columbus Symphony perform at the Ohio Theatre. Watching musicians perform at such a high level helped spark his own enthusiasm for music.

What Kavi enjoys most about playing is seeing the results of his hard work. He loves learning new songs and improving through consistent practice. His favorite musical memory so far is performing in his very first recital, a milestone that many young musicians never forget.

Looking ahead, Kavi has set a goal for himself to learn and play at least two instruments, and with piano and cello on his musical path, he is already well on his way to achieving it.

Outside of music, Kavi enjoys Science, playing chess, and spending time in Kerala, one of his favorite places to visit. His favorite food is Dosa, a delicious South Indian lentil crepe. If he could meet any musician, he would choose Angine de Poitrine.

We are proud of Kavi’s dedication, curiosity, and love of learning. His willingness to practice, challenge himself, and explore new instruments makes him a wonderful example of what it means to be a growing musician.

What instruments do you offer?

We offer a variety of different instruments! You can check which instrument specifically via our lessons page.

How are students placed with a teacher?

Students are placed with a teacher via the Placement form. You will fill out a series of questions pretaining to personality and learning styles, and we use that information to match you with a teacher that bests fit you or your child’s needs and ambitions.

Do you offer beginner lessons?

Yes! At Chambers, we work with all skill levels, everything from beginner to expert.

Do you offer lessons for kids and adults?

Yes! We welcome all students regardless of age or skill level. We offer private lessons, but we also have age specific courses designed for early childhood development, we also have ensemble and group classes that are designed for children and adolescents.
