Student of the Month March: Amelia Brown

We are so excited to celebrate Amelia Brown as our Student of the Month! Amelia is 8 years old, in 2nd grade, and attends Maryland Elementary School.

Amelia began her musical journey at just 4 years old after discovering World Drumming with Mr. Jim in the Bexley Rec catalogue. What started as a fun new activity quickly became something she truly loved!

When it comes to instruments, Amelia’s answer is simple: “Any drums!” She enjoys every opportunity to play and explore rhythm. In fact, she says she likes “every type of music”, which makes drumming the perfect fit for her open-minded spirit.

What does Amelia enjoy most about playing music? As she puts it, “I like the music I make.” There’s something special about creating your own sound, and Amelia loves being part of the creative process.

One of her favorite musical experiences has been making new friends in the Drum Ensemble and playing with other people. She enjoys the teamwork and fun that comes from making music together.

Her musical goal is to become better at drumming, and with her enthusiasm and dedication, we know she’s well on her way!

Outside of music, Amelia loves sushi, visiting both of her grandmas’ houses, and exploring new places. Her favorite subject in school is (no surprise!) music. She also enjoys playing The Legend of Zelda.
