Teacher of the Month March: Louis Dhoore

Louis grew up in Boise, Idaho, before completing his undergraduate studies in Minnesota and earning his master’s degree in Chicago. About a year into playing the violin, he realized how quickly he was progressing and felt a strong drive to keep practicing and improving,  a motivation that continues to shape his work today.

Teacher of the Month

While he plays several instruments, Louis has a special love for the viola, an often-underrated instrument he believes deserves far more appreciation in classical music.

He draws inspiration from discovering new composers and music, which sometimes leads him to analyze or even write his own pieces. One of his most meaningful musical experiences was performing Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 6, Op. 80 with his college quartet , a piece that helped them win competitions and still holds a special place in his heart.

Teacher of the Month

Outside the studio, Louis enjoys visiting Gemüt Biergarten in Old Towne East for bratwurst, and is the Game Master for a long-standing tabletop roleplaying game group.

Louis wants to continue to grow as a pianist so he can better accompany his students. Louis loves teaching because it allows him to see real, measurable growth in his students and make a direct, positive impact in his community, something he finds deeply rewarding.

We are so grateful to have Louis on our team and appreciate the enthusiasm, dedication, and heart they bring to their students every day. Congratulations, Louis, on being our Teacher of the Month✨
