Bexley Bass Student Spotlight: Max Zytcer

We’re excited to recognize Max as this month’s Bexley Bass Student of the Month!

Max is 15 years old and in 9th grade, and he began his musical journey about a year ago with one clear goal in mind; he wanted to learn how to play the bass, but didn’t know where to start. So he took the first step and signed up for lessons.

Since starting lessons, bass has become his favorite instrument. He loves the depth and feel of it, and while bass is his main focus, he’d also love to learn how to play the harmonica.

When asked what he enjoys most about playing, Max gave a simple but thoughtful answer: “I just like listening to the sound.” That appreciation for tone and feel is at the heart of being a great bassist. Some of his favorite musical moments come from simply messing around and experimenting , discovering new sounds and seeing where they lead. His music teacher Craig says “Glad to hear Max is getting recognition, he’s a great student and bassist.”

Outside of music, Max enjoys History in school, loves a good burger and fries, and loves visiting Sedona, Arizona. He’s also a fan of the video game Satisfactory, and if he could meet any musician, he’d choose Paul McCartney!

We’re proud of Max’s curiosity, creativity, and steady growth and consistency with music. Keep exploring, keep experimenting, and keep making music — we’re excited to see where it takes you! 🎸✨

What instruments do you offer?

We offer a variety of different instruments! You can check which instrument specifically via our lessons page.

How are students placed with a teacher?

Students are placed with a teacher via the Placement form. You will fill out a series of questions pretaining to personality and learning styles, and we use that information to match you with a teacher that bests fit you or your child’s needs and ambitions.

Do you offer beginner lessons?

Yes! At Chambers, we work with all skill levels, everything from beginner to expert.

Do you offer lessons for kids and adults?

Yes! We welcome all students regardless of age or skill level. We offer private lessons, but we also have age specific courses designed for early childhood development, we also have ensemble and group classes that are designed for children and adolescents.
