Teacher of the Month: Ryan Folger

We’re excited to celebrate Ryan Folger, originally from Solon, Ohio, as this month’s Teacher of the Month!

Teacher of the Month

Ryan discovered his passion for music in 5th grade when he began taking music lessons. But the spark truly ignited after attending one of his brother’s band concerts, where he saw a percussion ensemble perform. From that moment on, he knew he wanted to become a percussionist.

The drum set is Ryan’s favorite instrument to play. He loves the feeling that comes with playing—whether he’s practicing on his own or performing on stage. As he describes it, everything just feels right when he’s playing. That joy and connection to music is something his students get to experience in every lesson.

One of Ryan’s most memorable musical experiences was performing on tour with comedian Randy Rainbow. Touring the country and performing in beautiful theaters was a powerful milestone—a culmination of years of hard work and dedication. The experience not only celebrated how far he’s come, but also inspired him to continue growing as a musician.

Teacher of the Month

Outside of teaching and performing, Ryan enjoys keeping life balanced and fun. Pizza is hands-down his favorite food (he says he could eat it every night!). He also loves reading sci-fi and fantasy books, going for walks, and watching great films—one of his recent favorites is Everything Everywhere All at Once.

What Ryan enjoys most about teaching is helping students learn new skills and grow in confidence. He makes it a priority to encourage each student, creating a positive and supportive environment where they feel capable and proud of their progress.

We’re so grateful for the passion, encouragement, and musicianship Ryan brings to our studio each day. Congratulations, Ryan, on being our Teacher of the Month!
